The Sheehy Ranch's 5,000 acres is situated just 15 miles East of Big Sandy, Montana, in the foothills of the Bear Paw Mountain Range.&nbsp;
The ranch is a fifth-generation cow-calf operation that's been in the family since 1900. The ranch also grows hay on a small portion of its acreage.
The property itself is beautiful country, consisting of timber, rolling hills, coulees, streams, and even Mount Centennial.The property also has a rich history featuring teepee circles and several homestead sites. Timber from the property also supplied logs that were taken to build Fort Benton, the Birthplace of Montana.
Guests are welcome to stay in our 3-bedroom ranch house, which can comfortably sleep four to six guests. There is also a motel in big Sandy as well as three bars/restaurants and a grocery store. Guests can also make the short drives from Havre or Fort Benton.&nbsp;
All hunting and other experiences will take place on our property. We ask that you do not ask us or bother our neighbors for permission to use their property during your experience. Thank you!

HD 690 Deer/Elk Bowhunting Experience in the Bearpaw Foothills

Our sprawling property's draws and open spaces make for great mule deer hunting.		
Hofeldt Livestock is a family-owned and operated farm and ranch just south of Chinook, Montana. Our family homesteaded this land in 1892. To this day we continue to steward our land with our family's rich history in mind.
The property, about 10,400 acres in total, features three areas with diverse landscape and habitat.
Area 1:
About half a mile south of Chinook, this area consists of just over 755 acres right on the Milk River. In addition to our river bottom, we also have some cropland and pasture ground as well.
Area 2:
This should be our best spot for mule deer. We have 3,100 secluded acres of wide open prairie and grasslands with rolling hills. There's also some decent creek bottom with draws and small breaks.
Area 3:
Our biggest area is about 6,500 contiguous acres of rolling hills and prairie. The Bean Creek and Clear Creek both flow through the property. Around the Clear Creek will be sportsmen's best place to go for whitetail.
We are open to guests camping or RVing on the property; however, both Chinook and Havre offer nearby lodging and restaurant options.

HD 690 Mule Deer Hunt: Creekbottom Breaks + Grassland Coulees

The Cow Creek flows through our western parcels, splitting about 2250 acres. The creek makes up the boundary between Montana Big Game management units 690 and 621. We have about 1,150 additional acres in unit 621.													
Note: Bowhunters must abide by rifle regulations when hunting general season.

Our ranch is host to a ton of Mule Deer that like to hang around the Big Sandy Creek drainage.&nbsp;
The mule deer population is high. There are hundreds of deer on the ranch with lots of hills, coulees, small streams and brush to hunt. Most people who come out shoot a 4x4 mule deer with some getting bigger and some smaller, but very few people leave without a deer if they are here more than a day or two.

This hunting district is located in the northcentral part of the state and includes the Bears Paw Mountain Range, which is located north of the Missouri River and south of the town of Havre. The Rocky Boy Indian Reservation is situated within the district, which presents challenges for both hunters and game managers. There are some good mule deer bucks to be found in the unit, which can be hunted with a general tag.
