For elk hunters lucky enough to get a rifle tag, this is a great opportunity to get private access to our 100 acres in the Bull Mountains. Bowhunters have an easier chance of getting an archery tag, and the ranch is still productive during the bow season and early Fall. The ranch's habitat makes this a fun hunt with glassing spots and the chance to put a stalk on, giving the sense of backcountry hunt on 100 acres of solid private access.&nbsp;
Cows in Unit 590 can be hunted with a general tag or elk B tag for both Montana residents and nonresidents. This will be a great option during shoulder season for hunters looking to fill the freezer. Please inquire for a discounted rate for cow elk hunting during the shoulder season.

Single Day Elk Hunt

We will not be doing early shoulder season hunts this year.
The ranch represents two GMUs for big game.
Our property south of the highway, which consists of 7,000 acres is Unit 590. Elk hunters have had great success over the years hunting this farm ground and the hayfields adjacent to the river. Hunters can also hike further up into our ground in the timbered bluffs and foothills of the western Bull Mountains.&nbsp;
Our 8,600 acres north of the highway is in Unit 535. This part of the ranch is wide open and surrounded by various parcels of BLM, State, and BMA lands. Cover is much more limited north of the highway, so hunters should be aware of that.

This is a draw unit for Bull Elk.&nbsp;
We typically see about 4 bulls in the 350-400" range over the course of our archery and rifle seasons. Smaller bulls are around as well. Please use best judgement when harvesting bulls, and do your best to harvest "mature" bulls and let the younger bulls grow.
Bulls use the cover of the timbered breaks and coulees during the heat of the day, moving through our open pasture and water sources in the early mornings and late afternoons.&nbsp;

Unit 590 is located east of Billings and south of Roundup, and includes the Bull Mountains to the north of the Yellowstone River and Pine Ridge to the south of the river. This unit offers a chance to hunt for branch antlered bulls, but hunters can also use a general tag to hunt for antlerless or spike deer.
